Buddiup Step Up Health and Wellbeing Program
Full Day
The Step Up Program is a health and wellbeing program designed to help young men with disability develop long term healthy lifestyle habits, while also connecting with their community.
The Step Up Program
Who is the program for?
The Step Up Program is primarily aimed at young men who have recently left school, and relevant for men aged up to 35. We can also cater for younger or older participants with appropriate planning and peer matching.
Our objective is to assist with developing independence and opening opportunities for regular social interactions which can often disappear after participants leave school.
Our overarching goal is to help our participants find opportunities to be long term valued members of their communities, whether that is through employment or other engagements.
What does it involve?
The program is structured around Buddiup’s four key pillars of Community, Health, Learning and Relationships. Our focus is to provide a social environment for our participants to develop friendships and regular social interactions with other young men. We combine learning with practical application to develop long term healthy lifestyle choices. Our Programs are facilitated by a team of young males acting as mentors and coaches.
Where is the program ran?
The Full day program begins at Buddiup HQ in West Perth. We enjoy local cafes for coffee catch ups, and partner with other community organisations for volunteering. We also visit other local venues for monthly activities.
