Buddiup Step Up Health and Wellbeing Program
The Step Up Program is a full day health and wellbeing program designed to help young men with disability develop long term healthy lifestyle habits, while also connecting with each other and their community. The Step Up Program is aimed at young men who have recently left school, and relevant for men aged up to 35. We can also cater for younger or older participants with appropriate planning and peer matching.
The Step Up Program
Each participant is assigned a Buddiup Mentor to assist in the program
Our focus is to provide a supported social environment for our participants to develop friendships and regular social interactions with other young men
5 hour day program, running each week across the year
Program is structured around Buddiup’s four key pillars of Health, Relationships, Community, and Learning
We combine learning with practical application to develop long term healthy lifestyle choices
Our Programs are facilitated by a team of young males acting as mentors and coaches
Indicative daily structure
9am-10am: Physical activity - Gym program with Buddiup Coach
10am-11am: Relationships - Social catchup at local cafe, gratitude check in facilitated by mentors
11am-12 noon: Learning - Health and wellbeing content and goal setting facilitated by Buddiup Coach. Topics include: sleep, diet, exercise routine, friendships, relationships, other life skills.
12 noon - 1pm: Community - Shop for ingredients for lunch at local shops; sometimes groups catch the train to the shops
1pm - 2pm: Healthy Lunch - Make lunch (salad rolls) and eat together at Buddiup HQ
Support Workers, Pricing and Claiming
Buddiup provides each participant a Mentor to assist with program and skills development
$67.91 per hour, rate includes 1:1 Mentor ($65.47) and Capital Centre Cost ($2.44) - $339.55 per full 5 hour session. No added program fee

Pick up and drop off transport options available - time required added to program duration
External Support workers are welcome to attend with partipant if required - Participation charged as a 1:2 ratio for Buddiup Facilitation
