Our Values

Lifting Up

We believe in creating individual capability. Our aim is to help our athletes and participants help themselves in developing a healthier life.

Leading Up

We lead by example. We role model positive lifestyle choices and behaviours, encouraging our athletes and participants to do the same.

Linking Up

We place enormous value on social connection through the Buddiup community, encouraging development of organic relationships and friendships.

Buddiup’s History

Buddiup was founded in Perth, Western Australia in 2020 by Alastair Mackenzie. The concept was born out of eight years experience facilitating an Integrated Sports Program primarily focussed on AFL. Alastair has seen the immense benefit that the Buddiup program provides to participants through physical activity and social inclusion. The success of the program has identified the need for much more to be done to help adolescent males and young men with disability to develop healthy lifestyle habits outside of just sport.

Today, Buddiup provides daily programs and mentor services to over 100 athletes and participants in Perth and Geelong, helping young men and their families on their journey to creating a healthier life.

  • "My son has developed many life long friends along with good sporting habits, better wealth , increased confidence and a real sense of belonging to a tribe of like -minded guys who enjoy having fun whilst getting fit and reaching their goals."

  • "Can't speak more highly of these guys. Our son is loving hanging out with the lads at Buddiup as well as his 1:1 sessions with his Buddiup mentor. This has given him such a lot of confidence and a chance to work on the social skills he has been learning with his OT. I totally recommend this group for helping prepare your teen for adulthood."

  • "The programmes are well thought out and are focused on enjoyment while doing. I highly recommend to anyone wanting a sense of purpose, better lifestyle choices, enhanced friendships and improved fitness for their loved one"
