Team Leader | Mentoring and Supports – Full Time

Buddiup is a dynamic disability services organisation. We provide health & wellbeing programs to young men with intellectual and learning disability, focusing on our four pillars of Health, Relationships, Community and Learning.

Buddiup is based in West Perth, providing centre-based programs and 1on1 supports in the community to help young men develop healthy lives.

Position Overview

The Team Leader | Mentoring and Supports at Buddiup is newly created position to assist Buddiup in the continued delivery of its health & wellbeing programs and services.

This is a hybrid role, split between 50% management of Mentors and scheduling, and 50% delivery of supports.

You will be responsible for a group of participants in ensuring they have the appropriate supports to undertake Buddiup programs and community-based supports.

You will be the first point of contact for parents and primary carers and work closely with other Team Leaders and management in ensuring mentoring and supports are scheduled and delivered.

Experience in the disability sector, and qualifications in a relevant field will be preferred but not mandatory. More importantly we are looking for a new team member that is interested in beginning their career in human and care services, who is a team player, self-starter, and quick learner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the management of a team of mentors across the business

  • Scheduling mentors and participants across centre-based programs and community-based supports

  • Developing and nurturing relationships with participants, parents and primary carers

  • Fulfilling a minimum number of support hours per week

  • Assisting with general administration across mentoring and supports

  • General assistance within the Buddiup Centre

  • Stay informed about the disability sector best practice and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) more broadly.

  • General computer literacy and competency across Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications and experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not mandatory

  • Experience in the disability sector preferred

  • A foundational understanding of the NDIS will be an advantage

  • Competent computer skills

  • Ability to work within a team environment
